Hypoestes Phyllostachya - Polka Dot Plant

The Polka Dot Plant is up there as one of the most popular at The Plant Room.
With is eye catching, brightly patterned foliage and low maintenance needs, it's not hard to see why.
Available in green with shades of red, pink or white it's a small plant that will make a statement on any shelf.

Originally from Madagascar Hypoestes like it humid and will appreciate a misting from time to time.
They like their soil damp but water less during winter.

They love bright light, the more light the deeper and more vibrant the pattern on their leaves.
If the leaves are looking too solid green then try moving it to a brighter space.

Repot in the spring or if it has outgrown it's pot. Hypoestes with stop growing if root bound so repotting is a must.

When they flower they go into dormancy and sometimes die back! So pinch back flowers as they pop up to keep it looking beautiful for longer. If it does go into dormancy water it very little, once new growth has started go back to how you were caring for it before.
